Det. Chris Erickson (left) receives the Michael A. Powell Memorial Award from Det. Mark Woodward at the 2002 Western Robbery Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado. Chris was selected for his long and selfless devotion to CARI, the Denver Police Department, the State of Colorado and his colleagues. Chris retired from the Denver Police Department on April 15, 2002, but will remain involved with CARI. 







Sgt. Calvin Hemphill (right) receives the Powell Award from Det. Mark Woodward. Sgt. Hemphill was selected for his leadership skills and determination in putting together surveillances that resulted in the capture of the Front Page Bandit, a bank robber who struck southeast Metro Denver banks for about three months. Presented at the 2001 Western Robbery Conference in Breckenridge.

Buckley was recognized for his part in the identification of an armed serial robber who plagued the Metro-Denver area for over 3 years and for his long involvement with CARI. Presented at the 2000 Western Robbery Conference in Breckenridge.

Detective Mark Woodward, (left) Denver Police Department, presents FBI Special Agent Michael Howell with the Second Annual Michael A. Powell Memorial Robbery Investigator of the Year Award. Mike was selected because of his dogged efforts in solving three major interstate bank robbery patterns involving street gang members. Presented at the 1999 Western Robbery Conference in Glenwood Springs.






Detective Chris Erickson, (left) Denver Police Department, presents FBI Supervisory Special Agent Ron Knight with the First Annual Michael A. Powell Memorial Robbery Investigator of the Year Award. Ron was selected because of his exceptional work ethic, his tenacity in investigations and his welcome cooperation with local law enforcement. Presented at the 1998 Western Robbery Conference in Glenwood Springs.
